Folk Art Inlaid Design - Steel & Mixed Materials
Early to Mid-20th Century, 8 Pieces

This unique set of vintage cutlery features distinctive folk art craftsmanship, characterized by intricate metal inlays set into mixed-material handles. The handles appear to be a combination of dark wood and a bone-toned material, possibly natural bone or an early synthetic, secured with brass pins. The decorative motifs include religious and floral symbols such as crosses, tulips, and geometric patterns, suggesting a regional or souvenir origin typical of mid-century hand-finished tableware.

• Marked "STAINLESS" on the bolster of at least one fork; other pieces appear to be carbon steel with heavy natural patina
• Hand-crafted metal inlays including cross, floral, and circular motifs
• Set includes 6 forks (approx. 7.5-8 inches) and 2 knives (approx. 9.25 inches) - 8 pieces total
• Handles feature a mix of wood and bone-colored scales with lead/pewter-tone metal end caps and inlays

Condition: Fair to good vintage condition with significant character. The steel components show moderate to heavy oxidation, pitting, and surface darkening consistent with carbon steel of this era. Handles remain structurally sound with some surface wear, minor staining, and age-related shrinkage at the seams. Metal inlays are mostly intact, though one handle shows a small loss of material near the bolster. No loose handles or missing pins noted.
