Reed & Barton English Gentry Silver Plate Dinner Knives 16pc Set 9.5"
Reed & Barton
English Gentry Pattern - Silver Plate
Introduced 1977, 16 Pieces
This set of 16 dinner knives by Reed & Barton is crafted in the classic English Gentry pattern, first introduced in 1977. Reed & Barton, established in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1824, was renowned for superior American tableware craftsmanship. The English Gentry design features an ornate openwork pierced scroll finial atop a stately fluted column handle, capturing traditional European elegance. Each knife is constructed with a hollow silver-plated handle paired with a durable Mirrorstele stainless steel blade designed for fine dining service.
• Stamped "REED & BARTON MIRRORSTELE" on each blade; sleeves marked "REED & BARTON SILVERPLATE MADE IN U.S.A."
• English Gentry pattern confirmed by openwork crown scroll finial and reeded column handle design
• Material verified as silver plate hollow handle with stainless steel blade (NOT sterling silver)
• Set contains 16 dinner knives measuring approximately 9.5 inches in length (6 pieces in original protective plastic sleeves, 10 open)
• No monograms on any piece
Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. Six knives remain sealed in original manufacturer packaging with typical age-related storage tarnish. The ten unsealed knives display varying levels of natural silver tarnish and light surface patina consistent with vintage flatware. Blades are intact, straight, and show sharp cutting edges with no nicks or loose handles. No dents, cracks, or repairs observed. Polishing will easily restore full luster to preference.
