This set of Johnson Brothers plates features "The Blackwood" pattern on the specialized "Pareek" body, a cream-colored earthenware noted for its fine texture and warm tone. Produced in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England, Johnson Brothers was world-renowned for high-quality semi-porcelain and earthenware dinnerware. The Blackwood design features a sophisticated black and white geometric border accented by a delicate gold rim, characteristic of Art Deco-influenced mid-century tableware design.

Condition: Fair to good vintage condition. One plate has a significant chip on the rim approximately 1/2 inch in size. Several plates exhibit moderate to heavy crazing throughout the glaze. Two plates show noticeable brownish staining and discoloration in the center basin. Light wear to the gold gilt rim is present across the set consistent with age and use.
