This traditional Japanese Daruma doll serves as a powerful symbol of perseverance and good luck (Okiagari-koboshi). Hand-crafted from papier-mache, the doll is finished in a vibrant red hue, a color traditionally believed to ward off evil spirits and provide protection. The face features stylized eyebrows resembling cranes and whiskers resembling turtles, both classic Japanese symbols of longevity. The blank white eyes are intentional, awaiting the owner to paint in the left eye when setting a specific goal and the right eye upon its successful achievement.
