Hallcraft
Bird of Paradise by Eva Zeisel - Ceramic
Introduced 1952, Mid-Century Modern
This Hallcraft gondola-style basket bowl was designed by the legendary industrial designer Eva Zeisel, whose biomorphic forms defined the aesthetic of mid-century modern ceramics. Introduced in the early 1950s as part of the Hallcraft line for the Hall China Company, this piece features the striking "Bird of Paradise" pattern. The graphic treatment combines stylized red blooms with delicate black stems against a warm cream-colored glazed ground, perfectly complementing the fluid, organic lines of the vessel's architecture.
