Atlas-Lite Vintage Miniature Petrol Lighter Brocade Japan Pigmy Keychain Brass
Atlas-Lite
Brass-Tone Metal and Fabric Brocade Miniature Lighter
Vintage, Mid-20th Century
This vintage Atlas-Lite miniature petrol lighter, often referred to as a "pigmy" or "pygmy" style, features a decorative floral brocade wrap and a semi-automatic squeeze mechanism. Manufactured in Japan during the mid-20th century, these small-scale lighters were popular as functional keychain accessories and reflect the post-war Japanese novelty export market. The piece retains its original chain attachment and features a detailed woven fabric exterior.
• "Atlas-Lite" and "JAPAN" marks clearly stamped on the underside
• Brass-tone metal construction with a multi-color floral fabric wrap
• Squeeze-trigger ignition mechanism with integrated keychain loop and link chain
• Compact "pigmy" size: approximately 1.25" high x 1.125" wide
Condition: Fair to good vintage condition with significant age-appropriate wear. The metal casing shows heavy patina, oxidation, and loss of original plating throughout. The fabric wrap is intact but shows visible fraying and loose threads along the top and bottom borders. The squeeze mechanism is functional, though the item is untested for spark or flame and is sold without fuel.
