Landers, Frary & Clark (L.F.& C.)
Cast Iron Universal No. 2 Food Chopper
Antique, Late 19th to Early 20th Century

This Universal No. 2 food chopper is a classic piece of American kitchen history from Landers, Frary & Clark. Constructed of heavy cast iron, it features a bench-clamp mount and a manual hand-crank operation. The design is marked with multiple patent dates from 1897 to 1900, placing it firmly in the turn-of-the-century era and making it a genuine antique specimen.

• Heavy cast iron with tinned finish remnants and turned wooden handle
• Embossed "Universal No. 2 Food Chopper" and L.F.& C. brand markings
• Visible patent dates: Oct. 12, 1897, Apr. 18, 1899, and Sept. 5, 1899
• Crank-arm includes additional patent markings for Great Britain and Canada
• Bench-clamp base remains functional for tabletop mounting

Condition: Good antique condition with a heavy, natural patina consistent with age. The mechanical components turn freely and the internal auger is present. The cast iron surfaces show expected oxidation and significant loss of original tinning. Wooden handle is intact with smooth, age-appropriate wear. Clamp screw is fully functional.
