This exquisite pair of original 1920s sheet music covers showcases the iconic Art Deco illustration style of the Jazz Age. The first piece, titled "Leave Me With A Smile," is signed by the renowned illustrator Albert Wilfred Barbelle (1887-1957), famous for his elegant depictions of the period's "New Woman." The second piece, "Beautiful," features a stylized flapper portrait by Ransley Studios of Chicago. Both works exemplify the vibrant, high-contrast graphic design and romanticized portraiture that defined early 20th-century American pop culture ephemera.
• Professionally framed by Fine Arts and Frames with period-appropriate dark wood mouldings
• Classic Flapper-era portraits with intricate border details and stylized typography
• High-quality lithographic printing on aged paper with rich, saturated tones
• Reverse includes "BAC-TITE" dust covers and gallery labels from Raytown, MO
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The prints show minor age-appropriate toning consistent with their century-long history but remain vibrant and free of major defects. The glass and wooden frames are structurally sound with minor surface wear to the finish. Backing paper on the reverse shows some light punctures and storage wear but remains secure.
