Vintage Japanese Style Lidded Dish

This is a vintage Japanese-style ceramic lidded serving dish or caddy, featuring a distinctive woven rattan handle. The oval body and lid are decorated with a colorful, hand-painted floral and vine motif on a cream-colored crackle glaze background. The piece is accented with a bold, persimmon-orange colored rim and lid knob, making it a charming decorative or serving item.

Condition: Used. Good vintage condition with some notable signs of age and wear. The ceramic shows significant crazing (crackle glaze) throughout, which is common for this type of ware. There is a noticeable chip on the foot ring on the underside of the bowl. The interior of the bowl and lid show some light discoloration and staining from use. The woven handle is intact but shows minor fraying at the connection points. No maker's marks are visible.
