This vintage Chinese export brooch features a hand-carved green stone depicting a butterfly. The stone displays rich forest green tones with natural variations and translucency. The setting consists of a silver backplate with a scalloped edge and secure prongs. The metal is confirmed by XRF testing at 85% silver, characteristic of regional silver standards from the mid-20th century.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The silver setting exhibits a natural patina and minor surface wear. Stone is securely set. XRF analyzer in photo shows Ag 85.1%, Au 3.2% - tests as 850 silver per XRF. Thermal testing indicates the stone is in the jadeite range. Hallmarked on reverse with Chinese characters.
